The compulsory modules comprise the scientific focus of the programme and are therefore mandatory for every student.

Any module from any of RUB’s master’s programmes will be recognized.
Module 8: General Option Module (6 ECTS)
- A selection of courses offered is listed under points 6 and 7 (Fundamental and Advanced Option Modules in MS).
- Courses from the RUB’s main course catalogue and from the international course catalogue can be taken into account.
- It is also possible to take a six-week Industrial Internship (8.1).
Module 9: Documenting and Communicating Science (6 ECTS)
The Key Qualification module 9 is compulsory and divided into two parts:
1st Semester/Winter Term
- Documenting and Communicating Science 1
2nd Semester/Summer Term
- Documenting and Communicating Science 2
Module 10: Non-technical elective module (6 ECTS)
This non-technical elective module should be chosen from the key qualifications offers like German language for foreigners, Project and Quality Management, Business Skills, Intercultural Competence etc.
